get_event_seats

Reads reserved seats at one event: every seat open now, the seats that just moved, or one seat's full history.

When to use it

  • You need seat-level detail: exactly which seats are open, and the price of each. Leave view out.
  • You want what just moved: seats that came off sale, came back or changed price in the last minutes. view recent.
  • You want the story of one seat, every seat of a section, or every seat of the event that changed: view history, with scope.
  • It replaces get_event_seats_live, get_event_seats_recent and get_event_seat_history, whose names still answer: see Old names.

Inputs

  • view (string): live (the default): the seats open now, or at a past moment with at. recent: the seats that moved in the last minutes. history: one seat's changes. One of live, recent, history.
  • event_id (string, required): The event, by its Ticker id (ev plus ten characters), as search_events and the other tools return it.
  • at (date-time): With live, read the seats open at this past moment, with a time zone. Leave it out for now. A past answer has no prices.
  • limit (integer): The most rows to return. live: 200 seats when you leave it out, at most 5,000. recent: 50 seats. history: 50 changes per page, at most 200. A larger value reads as the most.
  • all_in (boolean): With live, also each open seat's price after fees, and whether that price is an estimate, in the same order as open. On when you leave it out; false returns the prices before fees alone. Not served with at.
  • minutes (integer): With recent, how far back to look, in minutes, at most 120. From 1 to 120.
  • section (string): The section printed on a ticket, like 104. With recent, only this section. With history, the seat's section together with row and seat, or with scope section, the section to read.
  • row (string): With history, the row printed on the ticket, like 6.
  • seat (string): With history, the seat number printed on the ticket, like 2.
  • place_index (integer): With history, the seat's place index from live or recent, in place of section, row and seat.
  • since (date-time): With history, the oldest change to include, with a time zone. Leave it out to reach the seat's first change.
  • cursor (string): With history, next_cursor from the page before: one seat's older changes, or the next seats of a section or event read.
  • scope (string): With history: seat (the default) reads one seat. section reads every seat of section that changed since since. event reads every seat of the event that changed. One of seat, section, event.
  • rows (boolean): With history and scope section or event: true gives each seat's changes instead of the summary, up to 25 seats a page in seat order.

What comes back

  • live: open, the open seats as place indexes, with each seat's price at the same position in prices. count is the true total, so read it, not the list length; truncated says limit cut the lists.
  • recent: one row per seat, newest first, with place_index, section, row, seat, kind (open on sale, close off sale), at, price and changes. republish true is a re-listing at a new price, not a sale.
  • history for one seat: seat, then changes, newest first: listed, repriced (with previous_price), unavailable (off sale from at to until_at, then back) or gone (taken or pulled, and the history does not say which). next_cursor gets older changes.
  • history with scope section or event: one summary per section, with the seats that changed, the seats off sale at the end of the window, and the first and last change. With rows true: up to 25 seats a page in seat order, each with its changes; a seat with more than 50 rows says truncated and carries its own next_cursor, and the page's next_cursor gets the next seats.
  • available false means Ticker has no live seat data for the event.

Limits and quota

  • Reads only: it changes nothing.
  • The Max plan and above include it.
  • Reserved seats only. For general admission sections, use get_event_sections_live with view ga.
  • An input the view does not take, like place_index with recent, is refused by name.
